LIBRARIES AND OPENING HOURS

Currently, the The University of Belize Library consists of 4 libraries, and one resource center, each specializing in their respective departments. Belize City is home to one library and one resource center. They are: Management and Social Science Library and the Engineering Resource Center. The remaining are found at Toledo Center, Central Farm, and at the Central Campus, located in Belmopan City.

Before the amalgamation of the tertiary institutions, UB Library (UCB Library back then) consisted only of three libraries: one in Belize City at Faculty of Business, one at UB Toledo and one at UB-Belmopan.

This library's collection includes mostly Business and Management Books, since the concentration at this faculty is Business Administration. This library also boasts the largest collection of Belize Items on hand. The Belize material range from newspapers to Belizean published books.

Five staff ensure the day-to-day operations of this library. They are: Mrs. Merle Henkis, Ms. Michelle Argalles, Ms. Nelly Sosa, Mrs. Josephine Mendoza and Ms. Nikkia Robinson.

This library has the longest extension of hours for patrons at the moment.

Originally known as the Science & Technology Library, Engineering Resource Center houses materials that specialize in Sciences and Information Technology.

Two staff ensure the day-to-day operations of this library. They are: Ms. Allison Brooks and Mrs. Mae Daly.

One main feature of this library is that is has two departments: Circulation Department (downstairs) and Reference Department (upstairs). This library houses a general collection. Materials range from Information Technology to Literature books. This library houses a computer lab whiich are available to students during normal opening hours. Also, audio/visual equipment can be borrowed from this library.

Two staff ensure the day-to-day operations at the Circulation Department. They are: Mr. Sherwin Requena and Mr. Nuri Crawford.

Three staff ensure the day-to-day operations at the Reference Department.They are: Mr. Orlando Palma, Mr. Elias Cowo and Mr. Kirk Lainfiesta.

This library also houses a general collection where the materials vary. This is relatively a small library, comprised of a small collection and a small space which caters to the students.
